On-Message founder Jacob "Jack" Jackson combines his record in front-line journalism with advanced business
training to provide positioning, messaging and PR counsel that enable clients achieve their business goals through strategic
communication initiatives. Over his career, Jack has worked with an array of public and private firms to execute
corporate, product, issue and crisis communication programs. His background extends to engagements spanning IT software and
platforms; health care, med-tech and biotech; consumer goods and services; and clean-tech, energy, environment and the power
sector. On-Message is the second specialized PR firm Jack established. In 1997, he launched CommCentric Strategies,
known for its communications and marketing expertise with early stage growth companies. In mid-2000, before inaugurating On-Message,
he sold CommCentric to one of the country's top-50 technology PR agencies. Previously, Jack was an executive
vice president at Shandwick PLC, then the world's largest independent PR agency, where he opened and was Managing Director
of its Seattle office. In this capacity, Jack was lead PR counselor for Microsoft's high-profile websites, including Microsoft
Network, MSNBC.com news, Slate.com and the Expedia online travel service. Before turning to public relations,
Jack had been a reporter for UPI, specializing in science and technology news; an editor and writer for the Chicago Tribune-New
York Daily News Syndicate; a writer and editor for the Harvard Medical School Health Letter; and a producer for WCVB-TV, ABC's
network affiliate in Boston. Jackson earned his MBA in marketing, with high honors, from Boston University's
Graduate School of Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in science from the Pennsylvania State University. Since 2000,
Jack has been on the Board of Boston's Public Relations Society of America chapter. He was the group's president from
2009-2010, and currently serves as its ethics officer. He is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from media relations to
marketing, and is an adjunct communication professor at Stonehill College.
